Guide to 3D displays
Anaglyph 3D Displays
The Anaglyph 3D display method is compatible with ordinary 2D monitors by using a color-coding technique, which encodes images for left and right eyes using different colors and requires the use of color-filter eyeglasses. Read more about the Anaglyph 3D technique at Wikipedia here.
The Holo-SDK
supports red-blue and red-cyan colors eyeglasses. These color combinations are the most common for anaglyph glasses, and can be purchased at many shopping malls or online market places. Here are some links to buy Anaglyph glasses.

To use Anaglyph glasses with our system, you will need to select the Anaglyph mode to display images on your standard monitor. When you wear the glasses you will experience 3D effects, although, with this mode, the range of colors will be reduced. However, you can choose different shaders that are suitable for your eyes comfort, which we explain in a later section.
Active and Passive 3D Displays
Both Active and Passive 3D displays require specialized monitors and glasses to operate. Active 3D monitors use active shutter glasses technology to deliver separate images corresponding to each left and right eye. Passive 3D displays use polarized glasses to filter an image for each eye.
Read more about passive 3D systems here, and more about active 3D systems here.
The Holo-SDK supports both active and passive 3D displays, and other types of 3D displays that use a side-by-side format. The Holo-SDK
supports the NVIDIA 3D VISION monitors, and many high-end TVs still offer 3D features.
To use an active or passive 3D display with our system, you will need to select the Side-by-side mode in the Settings page in the Holo-APP and configure your 3D display to receive side-by-side images from your computer.
Side by Side
Choose this mode when you use your holo-applications on a 3D TV. This mode renders left and right images separately, and the 3D TV will process the images to display the 3D effects on the TV.
Perspective
This mode display your 3D model in 2D mode. It does not show any 3D effects.
